At Goldentree, we’re firm believers that the best business relationships aren’t just built around boardroom tables – they’re built through genuine conversations, shared experiences and getting to know the people behind the deals.
With that in mind, last month we swapped bridging and development finance for padel rackets as we welcomed 16 of our valued broker partners to The Padel Club in Trafford Park for an afternoon of networking, friendly competition and, of course, some well-earned pizza afterwards.
Despite the Manchester sunshine doing its best to test everyone’s stamina, the atmosphere throughout the day was fantastic. Whether participants were seasoned padel players or picking up a racket for the very first time, the focus was never really on who won or lost. It was about bringing people together, strengthening existing relationships and creating new ones in a relaxed environment away from the usual meetings, emails and phone calls.
As a direct lender, relationships have always been at the heart of what we do. Every transaction starts with a conversation, and every successful deal is built on trust, communication and understanding. Events like these give us the opportunity to spend quality time with the brokers we work alongside every day, while also welcoming new faces into the Goldentree community.
It was brilliant to see so many people embracing the competitive spirit, encouraging one another on court and continuing the conversations long after the final match had finished. The feedback from everyone who attended has been incredibly positive, and we’re delighted that so many brokers enjoyed taking part.

Following the success of our Manchester event, we’re already looking forward to doing it all again. Our next Goldentree Padel event takes place this September 24th, and we’d love to see even more brokers join us for another afternoon of networking, sport and great company.
